Admission

The minimum age required to register in a Spanish course at YALE is 14; there is no maximum age limit. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required.

Registration

The student must submit a completed registration from along with a 150€ reservation fee. Confirmation of registration will be sent once the course reservation deposit is received (150 €). This deposit will be deducted from the total price of your course.

Prices

All Spanish courses include all of the necessary materials, EXCEPT the DELE preparation course. We recommend students buy an independent workbook in addition to this course

The DELE exam fee is not included.

Optional tours, excursions, and cultural activities are not included in the price of the course.

Housing

There is a 60€ supplementary charge for the arrangement and reservation of housing.

Housing placement will be confirmed within 10 days before the start of each course.

Housing arrangements are determined on a first come, first served basis. During Holy Week and the April Fair housing rates are higher.

Housing is not included in the price of the course, with the exception of the Spanish course in the teacher’s home.

To reserve housing in a private apartment a security deposit of 150€ is required.

Transportation

IELE offers an optional transportation service from the train station or airport to the student’s housing. This one-way service is 50€. If you do take advantage of this service, we ask that you send a recent photo of yourself and you will receive a photo in advance of the IELE staff member meeting you to ensure that your arrival goes as smoothly as possible. This service is included in the Spanish Course in the Teacher’s Home.

Insurance

Students are not insured through IELE. It is advised that students take out individual insurance policies to cover the risk of possible accidents, illness, or theft.

IELE accepts no liability for loss or damage of any kind.

Cancellation

IELE reserves the right to cancel a course in cases of insufficient enrollment numbers. In this case students will be refunded the full price of the course paid up to that point.

In the case of cancellation by the student IELE must be informed in writing.

-If the cancellation is made more than 15 days before the start of the course, the course will be fully refunded.

-If the cancellation is made within 15 days of the start of the course, everything but the 150€ reservation fee will be refunded. This reservation fee can be transferred to another course within the same year.

-If cancellation is made the same day as the course begins there will be no refund.
